Event alert: Ukrainian Refugee Crisis: Why Canada needs to step up

Updated: Feb 8

Join us for a conversation with retired General Rick Hillier and Canadian Future Party leader Dominic Cardy on what we need to do to assist Ukrainian refugees.

Friday, Feb. 9, 4 p.m. EST

More than 90,000 Ukrainian refugees are expected to show up at our doors before their Canadian visas expire on March 31st. This is on top of the 250,000 who have already immigrated under an emergency visa program.

Is Canada ready for this next wave. Absolutely not – according to General (Retired) Rick Hillier, an advisor to the Ukrainian World Congress’s “Unite with Ukraine” campaign, and former Canadian chief of defence staff who also led Ontario’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout.

He can see a brewing crisis. And he’s calling for a national strategy to deal with it.

Canadian Future Party interim leader Dominic Cardy will join General Hillier for a 45-minute webcast discussion on what policies, priorities and measures the Canadian government should be taking on this key issue.
